We offer a curriculum more individualized in response to student needs and interests, more flexible in format, and more varied in modes of teaching than that encountered in most learning settings. The curriculum design and implementation accommodate the language, learning and social difficulties our children experience. Program and curriculum reflect best practices and evidenced-based instruction. Multiple teaching strategies are used and range widely from multi-sensory techniques to Direct Instruction. The curriculum meets the requirements of both the existing National Core Standards and the Georgia Standards as defined by the State Department of Education. Our curriculum goals venture beyond academic instruction, extending as well to the social and emotional needs of children. Likewise, they acknowledge the importance of acquiring and using adaptive life skills and the difficulties (as documented in the research literature) this area presents for our particular students.  Moreover, the program values both physical education and the arts as they impact learning, stress management, and other elements critical to development.
